Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has revealed the party’s candidates for the upcoming intra-party elections on March 3.
According to Barrister Gohar, Ali Zafar will contest for the position of Chairman, and Umar Ayub will be the candidate for General Secretary.
He emphasized the importance of fair and transparent elections for the betterment of the economy, stating that swift court decisions have been witnessed globally. Despite the legal challenges, he expressed PTI’s commitment to being an active part of Parliament and moving forward.
The PTI is set to conduct intra-party elections on March 3. The announcement, released by the PTI, outlines the schedule leading up to the election.
According to the schedule provided by PTI, nomination papers can be submitted by party members on February 23 and 24. Subsequently, the scrutiny of these nomination papers is slated to take place on February 25, with decisions on their validity expected to be made by February 27.
According to the schedule, the polling for PTI's intra-party elections will take place on March 3, with polling booths set up in all four provincial secretariats alongside the central office. This inclusive approach aims to facilitate party members from across Pakistan to participate in the electoral process and exercise their democratic rights.
Furthermore, the PTI has informed the election commission in writing of its decision to hold the intra-party polls. It also submitted its schedule for the polls with the ECP.
On the other hand, disgruntled party leader Akbar S Babar has decided to challenge the PTI's decision to conduct intra-party polls before the election commission. He claimed that the entire current leadership of the PTI had been annulled.
