In response to the alarming surge in social media campaigns targeting government officials and judges, the joint investigation team (JIT) has announced decisive indiscriminate measures against those involved.
Following two separate meetings held in Islamabad, the JIT has resolved to take indiscriminate action against all individuals involved in such activities.
The JIT said it would reach out to the relevant social media platforms to ensure the closure of accounts belonging to the persons involved. Describing the actions of these individuals as constituting anti-national criminal activity, the JIT has emphasized its commitment to ensuring that all perpetrators face the full force of the law.
Expressing grave concern over the potential for such campaigns to incite unrest across the country, the JIT has issued a stern warning to those engaging in these campaigns.

The team underscores that all individuals found guilty of participating in campaigns against judges and government officials will be held accountable through legal means.

The caretaker government had on Wednesday announced the formation of a new JIT for thorough investigations in a move against slanderous campaigns on social media targeting the election commission and government officials.
The decision came amidst growing concerns over the spread of misinformation and attempts to manipulate public opinion through deceptive tactics. The caretaker government vowed to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and ensure fair and transparent elections.
Speaking on the matter, a spokesperson for the caretaker government stated, "We cannot allow malicious actors to undermine the democratic process through deceitful means.
