The PML-N has directed its workers from across the country to converge on Minar-e-Pakistan on October 21, while party supremo Nawaz Sharif has instructed the senior leadership to reach the airport to receive him as he returns from London after a hiatus of four years.
It has been learnt that in the wake of Nawaz Sharif’s arrest from the airport, the Minar-e-Pakistan reception rally will convert into a protest.
However, in case the former premier gets a protective bail, he will address the Minar-e-Pakistan reception rally personally.
PML-N leaders and activists from all over the country will gather at Minar-e-Pakistan, while Nawaz will reach the venue from the airport on a helicopter.
After addressing the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif will pay a visit to Data Darbar.
On the other hand, the PML-n cancelled its meeting of the local government representatives due to the excessive rain.
Earlier, party supremo Nawaz Sharif had directed all local body representatives of the PML-N to hold a meeting and tasked party’s Senior Vice President and chief organizer Maryam Nawaz with the preparations.
The meeting of the local body representatives was scheduled to be held in Jati Umra.
Khawaja Imran Nazir said the meeting was canceled due to rain. He further said that the ground where the convention was to be held is inundated with rainwater.
The new date for the convention would be announced later, said the district general secretary, adding that the convention was supposed to be addressed by Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shehbaz.
Maryam Nawaz was expected to assign various tasks to the local body representatives before leaving for London.
