Security forces have launched a major operation against three terrorists hiding inside Wana Cadet College, according to security sources.
The terrorists, believed to be from Afghanistan, are reportedly taking instructions from handlers across the border via telephone.
Authorities confirmed that the terrorists are holed up in a building far from the cadets’ residential area, and efforts are being made to clear the premises with great precision to ensure the safety of students and staff.
According to intelligence reports, the three terrorists are continuously in contact with handlers in Afghanistan, coordinating movements and tactics during the standoff. Security forces have cordoned off the area and are conducting a building-by-building clearance using advanced surveillance and tactical measures.
Officials stressed that the operation is being conducted with utmost care, as hundreds of cadets remain housed in nearby buildings. “Every step is being taken to ensure that the cadets are safe and unharmed,” a security source said.
Attack on college gate precedes operation
The ongoing operation follows a suicide attack on November 10, when an Afghan terrorist drove an explosives-laden vehicle into the main gate of Wana Cadet College. The powerful blast destroyed the college gate, damaged nearby buildings, and caused widespread panic in the area.
Security forces responded immediately, engaging the attackers and killing two terrorists on the spot in a swift and courageous action. The current operation is focused on neutralizing the remaining three terrorists hiding within the college premises.

Condemning the assault, security officials stated that the attack on innocent tribal children was an act of barbarism and has no connection with Islam or the people of Pakistan. They emphasized that such acts only serve the interests of enemies seeking to destabilize peace in the region.
“Those targeting educational institutions and innocent children are enemies of humanity,” said one official. “Our forces will continue operations until the last terrorist is eliminated.”
Operation to continue until full clearance
The Pakistan Army has intensified security across the Wana region as part of the counterterrorism effort. The area surrounding the cadet college remains sealed, with clearance operations ongoing to ensure that no terrorist elements remain in hiding.
Officials reiterated that the operation will continue until the complete elimination of all terrorists and the full restoration of safety at the cadet college.
