Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss matters of national importance and review recent regional and international developments.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, the political and security situation of the country was reviewed, along with developments in the region and beyond. The prime minister briefed the president on his recent visits to Egypt and Malaysia, including efforts aimed at promoting peace in Gaza.
A separate one-on-one meeting was also held between the two leaders. National priorities and a broad outline of government policies were discussed. Both sides agreed to continue political consultations on key national matters.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, Saleem Mandviwala, Sherry Rehman and Nayyar Hussain Bukhari were also present during the meeting.
