Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Thursday that Pakistan had brought down Israeli drone in Bahawalnagar.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Tarar said: "Pakistan Air Defence has successfully shot down another Harop drone in Bahawalnagar. Alhamdulillah."
Earlier, it was reported that loud explosions and gunfire were reported near Bahawalnagar Cantonment, prompting alarm among residents.
A large number of people came out of their homes following the incident. Sirens were heard across Bahawalnagar as announcements from mosques urged residents to switch off their household lights.

Separately, ISPR Director General Major General Ahmed Sharif Thursday strongly rebutted India’s recent claims of so-called successful strikes inside Pakistan, calling them ‘fantasy stories’ driven by domestic political agendas and war hysteria.
The spokesperson of the armed forces of Pakistan emphasized that Pakistan not only monitored India’s drones in real time but also responded effectively and responsibly by shooting all 29 of them so far.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, DG ISPR confirmed that four projectiles were launched from India’s Adampur Airbase, with three landing inside Indian Punjab’s Amritsar and one crossing into Pakistan, where it was successfully intercepted over Dinga in the Gujrat district. Forensic analysis of the missile debris is underway.
