TidalWave Comics has introduced a new addition to its FAME series, a 22-page comic book chronicling the remarkable journey of South Korea's K-pop sensation, BTS.
This graphic narrative delves into the group's ascent to global stardom since their debut in 2013, emphasising their vibrant musical achievements and impactful social campaigns aimed at empowering youth.
The glossy comic not only illuminates how the seven members rose to fame but also addresses their recent transition from pop stars to soldiers as they fulfil their mandatory military service.
In South Korea, all able-bodied men aged between 18 and 28 are required to serve in the military for a duration ranging from 18 to 21 months as part of the country's defence efforts, particularly against the nuclear-armed North Korea.
While exemptions or shorter service terms are granted in certain cases, including for Olympic medalists and prize-winning classical musicians, BTS faced the expectation of fulfilling their military duty.
In December 2022, the eldest member, Jin, commenced his military service, followed by the rest of the group, with the final three initiating their duties last month. Dedicated fans have pledged to patiently await the group's reunion, anticipated in 2025.
Scheduled for release on January 10, the comic book will be available in both print and digital formats, offering fans the opportunity to delve into the dynamic narrative of BTS's rise to fame and their conscientious embrace of military service obligations.
