Taliban commander has openly focused his attention on Tajikistan, revealing their expansionist mindset and exposing their disregard for regional peace and stability.
This comes despite their government, which once promised non-interference, now threatening neighbouring countries.
The international community must acknowledge that the Taliban's ambitions stretch far beyond Afghanistan's borders. By deeming Tajikistan weak and dismissing Russia’s deterrence, Taliban commanders recklessly invite conflict, entirely disregarding diplomacy and mutual coexistence.
Their misplaced confidence stems from the Doha Agreement, where they secured legal status without accountability. This serves as a lesson to the world: appeasement only encourages aggression. If the Taliban cannot control their own factions from making threats of war, how can they be trusted as a legitimate government? Their words lay bare their indifference.
A government that envisions military victories instead of economic recovery and governance has posed a serious threat to the region.
