Pakistani nationals planning to visit Germany must meet updated financial requirements for the Schengen visit visa, as the country reinforces its tourist visa policies.
Germany, a key member of the Schengen Area, requires Pakistani travelers to obtain a Schengen visa before entry. If an applicant intends to visit multiple Schengen states, the visa application must be submitted to the country's consulate where they will spend the longest duration.
The Schengen Zone currently includes 27 European nations, all of which have uniform visa regulations.
One of the primary requirements for obtaining a Schengen visa is proof of financial means to cover the cost of stay. According to the latest update, applicants must provide a bank statement no older than 30 days to demonstrate sufficient financial resources.
The minimum required daily amount for expenses in Germany is set at €45 per day, meaning an individual planning a 90-day stay must show a bank balance of at least €4,050 or its equivalent in Pakistani rupees.
Minimum bank statement
As of February 3, 2025, one euro is valued at Rs289.41, bringing the minimum bank balance requirement to approximately Rs1.2 million. The financial requirement is aimed at ensuring that visitors can sustain themselves during their stay without relying on external financial support.
Pakistani travelers applying for the Germany visit visa are advised to maintain the required amount in their bank accounts and ensure all financial documents meet the specified criteria before submission.
The move is part of broader efforts by Schengen states to streamline visa applications while ensuring visitors have adequate financial resources during their stay.
