Major Hamza Israr, a brave officer of the Pakistan Army, was laid to rest with full military honours after embracing martyrdom while combating terrorists in Mir Ali, North Waziristan.
His funeral prayers were offered at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, attended by top civil and military leadership.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, and other high-ranking officials were present to pay their respects.
Speaking at the funeral, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif honoured the sacrifices of martyrs like Major Hamza, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism. He emphasized that such sacrifices strengthen the nation’s resolve, ensuring a safer and more peaceful future for coming generations.
“The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism,” he stated, reiterating support for those defending Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Following the funeral, Major Hamza Israr’s body was taken to his hometown, where he was laid to rest with full military honours. The 29-year-old officer had recently married, leaving behind his wife, parents, and siblings.
His supreme sacrifice serves as a reminder of the unwavering bravery of Pakistan’s soldiers, who continue to fight against terrorism to safeguard the country.
