Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan asked on Saturday Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to concentrate on the province.
Speaking exclusively on Samaa TV programme "Do Tok With Kiran Naz", Khan advised CM Maryam to address her "own shortcomings" before promising solutions for others.
Khan said: "The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) clarified there is no ban on mentioning PTI’s founder."
The PTI leader appreciated Ayaz Sadiq's positive role in the negotiations, emphasising that the government should not overburden him.
He also acknowledged Rana Sanaullah's constructive contributions but raised concerns about certain inconsistencies. He questioned whether a meeting could not take place elsewhere and if the interior minister operated independently of the prime minister.
Khan revealed that he was repeatedly denied meetings with the PTI founder.
Commenting on the government's approach to negotiations, he stated that the ruling party "seemed divided" into two factions—one cooperative and the other obstructive.
He questioned why meetings were not materialising despite ongoing talks, indicating some underlying issues. He warned that if the government remained insincere, its duplicity would be exposed.
Highlighting past grievances, he mentioned that PTI ally Sahibzada Hamid Raza conveyed the PTI founder’s willingness to forgive injustices done to him.
However, he criticised the government for "downplaying the assassination attempt" on the former prime minister and ridiculed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for governing with only 17 seats.
Khan stressed the importance of forming a judicial commission to investigate the events of 26 November, stating that if the government’s intentions were clean, it should initiate the probe itself.
He added that PTI leader Omar Ayub shared plans to submit written demands, noting that the absence of a judicial commission could hinder further negotiation rounds.
Questioning the autonomy of decision-making, he asked whether PTI leaders such as Asad Qaiser, Omar Ayub and Hamid Raza could act without the founder's approval.
He criticised Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and urged him to focus on his ministry’s performance instead of "diverting attention elsewhere".
Khan clarified that Bushra Bibi, the PTI founder’s wife, remained solely committed to her husband’s release and had no political ambitions.
