Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir harshly criticised the national team's former coaches for keeping Mohammad Abbas out of the squad for three years.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Amir pointed out that Abbas’s outstanding performance in the Test match against South Africa served as a slap in the face to those who had excluded him from the team due to his pace.
Pakistan faced a narrow defeat by two wickets against South Africa in the thrilling Centurion Test. Despite the loss, Mohammad Abbas, who returned to the national Test squad after three years, impressed with his brilliant performance. Abbas took seven wickets in the match, including his career-best bowling figures of 6 wickets for 54 runs in the second innings.
Amir, who had been vocal in the past, expressed his disappointment over the decision to keep Abbas out of the team, stating, "These coaches should be brought forward who kept Mohammad Abbas out of the team for three years because of his pace."
