The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has officially announced the schedule for winter vacations in schools across the province.
Schools in the plain areas of KP will observe winter vacations from December 22 to 31, 2024. Meanwhile, schools in the mountainous regions will remain closed for an extended period, from December 22 to February 28, 2025, due to harsh weather conditions.
In a similar development, Bolan Medical College (BMC) in Quetta has also declared winter vacations. According to the announcement, the college will remain closed for teaching purposes from Monday until February 28, 2025.

However, administrative staff will continue their duties during this period, and teachers have been instructed to observe the vacations as per regulations.
On Dec 13, the Balochistan government had announced winter vacations for educational institutions across the province. A notification issued by the authorities detailed the schedule for schools in cold and warm regions.

Schools in cold areas would remain closed from December 16 to February 28, reopening on March 1, 2025. Meanwhile, the vacations would begin on January 1 and conclude on January 10 in relatively warm areas of Balochistan.
Punjab's public and private schools will observe winter vacation from December 20 till January 10, 2025. The vacations had provided the students and staff with a well-deserved 20-day holiday.
