South Africa, chasing a target of 207, reached 210/3 in 19.3 overs, with Reeza Hendricks anchoring the innings. Hendricks scored 117 off 63 balls, hitting 7 fours and 10 sixes. Despite early wickets, Rassie van der Dussen's unbeaten 60 from 37 balls guided South Africa to victory.
Earlier, Pakistan posted an imposing total of 206-5 against South Africa during the second T20I at Centurion, courtesy of a scintillating unbeaten 98-run knock from Saim Ayub, who fell two runs short of a maiden century at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Friday.
Electing to bat first, Pakistan faced an early setback when Mohammad Rizwan departed for 11 runs, caught by Rassie van der Dussen off Ottneil Baartman in the fourth over. However, Ayub steadied the innings with his composed yet aggressive batting, crafting a masterful 98 not out off 57 deliveries.
The young left-hander struck 11 boundaries and cleared the ropes five times, showcasing impeccable timing and shot selection.
Babar Azam contributed 31 runs off 20 balls before falling to George Linde, while Irfan Khan added a quick-fire 30 off 16 deliveries, further accelerating Pakistan's scoring rate.
South Africa's bowlers struggled to contain Pakistan’s batters, with Dayyaan Galiem standing out with figures of 2-21 from his four overs.
Despite his disciplined effort, the likes of Baartman and Maphaka conceded runs at alarming rates, with their combined spell leaking 92 runs.
Extras also played a significant role in Pakistan's tally, with 16 runs gifted through wides and no-balls, adding to the hosts' woes.
