Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for Saudi Arabia on a two-day official visit to participate and represent Pakistan in the 'One Water Summit' in Riyadh.
He is accompanied by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
The summit, jointly organized by Saudi Arabia, France, Kazakhstan, and the World Bank, is dedicated to ensuring global cooperation for the sustainable management and conservation of water resources. It aims to address critical challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, and pollution through international collaboration and high-level political commitment.

During the conference, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will deliver a keynote address on restoring, conserving, and innovating water resources. He will highlight Pakistan's efforts in water resource management, climate change preparedness, and improving the quality of drinking water. The PM will also emphasize the government’s initiatives to provide employment and protect aquatic ecosystems.
Shehbaz Sharif is expected to advocate for enhanced international cooperation to tackle the impacts of climate change, including extreme weather events, floods, and rising temperatures, which pose significant risks to water resources worldwide. He will also invite global leaders to adopt sustainable practices for better water management.
On the sidelines of the summit, Shehbaz is anticipated to hold meetings with world leaders participating in the summit.
The One Water Summit serves as a vital platform for nations to unite against the looming water crisis and explore innovative solutions to ensure the availability of clean water for future generations.
