Barcelona winger Ansu Fati has been ruled out for approximately four weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury during training on Wednesday, the club confirmed in a statement.
The 22-year-old Spain international, who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons, will miss several key matches, including Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League clash with Brest on November 26 and several La Liga fixtures.
The Catalan club announced that Fati had suffered a muscle injury to his right hamstring, and although specific details were not provided, the expected recovery time is around four weeks. This means the young forward will miss La Liga encounters against Celta Vigo, Las Palmas, Mallorca, and Real Betis.
Fati's injury is part of a growing list of injury concerns at Barcelona, as the club also faces setbacks with other key players. Lamine Yamal, who recently broke Fati’s record as the youngest-ever Barcelona player and goalscorer, is sidelined for around three weeks due to an ankle issue.
Additionally, veteran striker Robert Lewandowski is dealing with a minor back problem, while defensive players such as Marc-André ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, and Ronald Araujo are also unavailable.
With multiple key players out of action, Barcelona will need to rely on their squad depth in the coming weeks to maintain their position at the top of La Liga and advance in the Champions League.
