Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has said the armed forces and the people of Pakistan are determined to foil the nefarious designs of country's foes.
While delivering a heartfelt speech on Pakistan Defense and Martyrs Day, honoring the country’s courageous martyrs and ghazis, he paid tribute to the brave individuals who have sacrificed everything for their nation, praying for their eternal peace.
General Asim Munir emphasized that Pakistan’s commitment to stability is closely tied to the National Action Plan, adding that Operation Azm-e-Istehkam is not a new military operation and will not involve the displacement of any population.
He highlighted that recent terrorist activities are desperate attempts by certain elements to weaken the state, and he assured that those who support and justify these crimes will face increasing pressure in the future.
He also sent a clear message to external powers, stating that Pakistan is fully aware of their malicious intentions and will not allow them to succeed. General Munir reaffirmed that the country will remain resolute in its stance, and those who incite violence and unrest will find no refuge in Pakistan.
Referencing verse 169 of Surah Aal Imran, the Army Chief reminded the nation, "And do not think of those who were killed in the way of Allah as dead; rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving sustenance."
He emphasized the significance of national unity against internal and external threats, celebrating key achievements such as the integration of tribal areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the formal management of western borders, and ongoing economic and social development efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The Army Chief reaffirmed the unbreakable bond between the Pakistan Armed Forces and the people, describing it as a "bond of the heart" that guarantees the defeat of Pakistan's enemies. He stressed the importance of unity in the face of those who seek to sow chaos and despair, promising that their sinister plans would never succeed.
He also condemned those who incite violence and disorder, warning that the land of Pakistan will always be inhospitable to such elements. He reaffirmed the Pakistan Army's commitment to defending the nation's integrity and ensuring that no force, internal or external, would be allowed to weaken the country's unity.
Expressing complete faith in Pakistan's bright future, General Asim Munir called for brotherhood, harmony, and tolerance in social matters. He urged the nation to rise above religious intolerance and to safeguard the rights of minorities as enshrined in the Constitution of Pakistan. He emphasized the need for political differences to remain peaceful and not devolve into hatred.
Recognizing the country's immense natural resources and strategic importance, the Army Chief noted that Pakistan's true strength lies in its people, particularly the youth. He highlighted the critical role of the younger generation in securing the country's integrity and driving its future development.
General Asim Munir also took the opportunity to honor the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people, condemning India's illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir as a regional and global issue. He expressed solidarity with the martyrs of Occupied Kashmir and called attention to the plight of the Palestinian people, condemning Israeli aggression as a gross violation of international laws and human rights.
