KARACHI: Former PPP leader Nabil Gabol formally announced his decision to join the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Addressing a press conference at Nine Zero here on Sunday, Gabol announced he is joining the MQM. “PPP is no more the party of Benazir Bhutto. I was constantly ignored by the party,” he said. “I have left my 25-year-old association with the PPP.”
“I visited Nine Zero several times in the past and always considered it my second home,” he said.
Referring to Shahzab murder case, Gabool said that he could not lodge an FIR against the murder of his nephew despite being a PPP MNA.
"My task would be to promote brotherhood between Urdu and Sindhi speaking people. “I would dispel the impression that MQM is the party of a particular community,” he said.
“I assure Altaf Hussain that we will jointly work for the prosperity of Sindh and Pakistan.”
Earlier, Gabol was warmly greeted by MQM leaders and activists at Nine Zero. – SAMAA
