KARACHI: The fresh wave of firing incidents has claimed lives of 30 people, including 20 political workers over the past three days in Karachi, SAMAA reported Thursday.
Activists of key political parties, including the PPP, MQM and ANP were targeted in the recent spree of assaults and targeted killings, with local offices of the factions attacked and office-bearers shot dead in various areas.
According to an official tally, the MQM lost 8 of its workers, PPP five, Sunni Tehrik 4, Muhajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-H) two and the ANP one during last three days of political violence.
Nine people were gunned down when the violence erupted in the metropolis on Monday August 27, bringing the death toll to 14 till Wednesday August 29.
Three women and one Rangers also fell prey to the violence which hit Baldia Town, Orangi, Landhi, North Karachi, New Karachi, Martin Quarters, Malir and other areas. -- SAMAA
