Fake passport scandal: Lahore court acquits all four accused

Staff Report

LAHORE: A local court on Monday acquitted all four men suspected of being involved in a fake passport scandal case.

Malik Abid Chaudhry, the central character of the scandal, also appeared before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and recorded his statement.

A case was registered against British tabloid’s reporter Ali Asad for altering his data to get a passport. According to officials, Interpol will be approached to ensure Asad’s arrest.

Four workers of NADRA and passport office were brought before a judicial magistrate.

An FIA’s investigation officer told the court that no evidence could be found against the accused.

On this, the court ordered their release. SAMAA
