LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday took into custody three more travel agents from Lahore over their involvement in an alleged ‘visa racket’ exposed by a UK magazine, The Sun.
The agents were arrested during FIA raids in Lahore’s Davis Road, Barkat Market and other areas.
Officials said a woman, Saba Naz alias Madam Babri, was also nabbed, adding that she was had been committing fraud with people on the pretext of visas of Britain, swindling millions of rupees from them.
Fake passports and cash were recovered from her possession.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has been ordered by the federal government to take legal action against the British tabloid which published a report on Pakistan passport-issuing authorities. -- SAMAA
