Contempt of Court Amended Act-2012 challenged in SC Quetta Registry

Staff Report

QUETTA: Renowned lawyer and former president of Balochistan High Court Bar Association, Baz Muhammad Kakar, has challenged Contempt of Court Amended Act-2012 challenged in SC Quetta Registry today, SAMAA reported on Thursday.

Baz Muhammad Kakar and Balochistan Bar Association’s General Secretary, Manzoor Bangalzai, have argued in their petition, filed in the SC Quetta Registry this day that the Contempt of Court Amended Act-2012 has been formed for a particular privileged class and it is against the basic lines of the Constitution.

The petitioners, Kakar and Bangalzai, have requested in their petition that this act, as a whole, should be declared null and void.

It is worth remembering here that five judges of the Supreme Court including the Chief Justice are hearing several different cases in the SC Quetta Registry. SAMAA
