Swiss letter: Contempt’s petition filed against PM Raja in Supreme Court

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: A petition of court’s contempt has been filed against Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf, over decision of not writing letters to Swiss courts, in the Supreme Court today, SAMAA reported on Tuesday.

Advocate Maulvi Iqbal Haider has filed this petition against the newly appointed Prime Minister of Pakistan, stating that PM Raja’s announcement that he will follow footsteps of former PM Gilani over Swiss letter issue is a contempt of court.

The Prime Minister announced at the Quid-e-Azam’s mausoleum that he will continue old policy over writing letter to Swiss authorities so contempt of court’s proceeding should be initiated against Raja Parvez Ashraf, demanded the petitioner in his plea filed this day.

Another appeal has been also filed in the Supreme Court this day against SHC’s rejection of a plea, filed for barring the new PM from work until he does not write letter to the Swiss officials.

Maulvi Iqbal Haider has stated in his petition that until the PM does not write letter to Swiss courts, he shall be stopped from work.

He has stated in his second plea, regarding SHC’s rejection of plea against the PM, the Sindh High Court over looked facts while rejecting his petition. SAMAA
