ABBOTTABAD: The Supreme Court, disposing of Kohistan jirga case, ruled all five girls are alive and that their death was falsely reported.
A three-judge Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard a suo motu notice regarding alleged execution of five girls at the order of a jirga (assembly) in Kohistan.
The apex court maintained that it sent two delegations to probe the alleged incident, but no evidence was found regarding the girls’ murder.
The court is satisfied with the report of the investigation commission and that there is no reason to negate it.
The court said that the case could be taken up again if any problem reemerged. SAMAA
