KARACHI: King of ghazal singing Mehdi Hassan’s son Asif Mehdi Wednesday said his father’s condition improved some days back and this relieved all his children including him.

Talking to media outside Agha Khan Hospital, where the legendary classical vocalist Mehdi expired today after a prolonged period of disease, he said, “Seeing him in good state, we, all brothers and sisters, were satisfied; but, all of a sudden, his condition deteriorated. And, he left us grieving.”

Asif Mehdi requested all the fans of the ghazal singing genius to pray to Allah Almighty for the eternal peace for the departed soul of the great musician. SAMAA
