Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Interim report regarding National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) case has been submitted to Supreme Court (SC), SAMAA reported Friday.

Meantime, Additional Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Zafar Qureshi said the Interior Secretary and DG FIA are shielding the accused.

Talking to SAMAA, Qureshi stressed Secretary of Interior and Director General FIA Syed Tehseen Anwar Ali Shah did not act upon the orders given by the apex court in the NICL case, underlining that investigation regarding the case was hitherto unfinished; hence, the finalized challan could not be filed.

The FIA official stressed Director Waqar Bhatti and AD Zulfiqar unfroze Munis Elahi’s assets worth Rs.20 million.

Zafar Qureshi remarked he wrote to Interior Secretary to register a case against these officers after arresting them for restoring the bank accounts of Nunis Elahi; but, the secretary and DG FIA put impediments in the case. SAMAA
