Pakistan Army making serious effort: US

NEW YORK: The US State Department has agreed that the Pakistan Army has had "a very serious and concerted effort" to dismantle extremist elements but Deputy Secretary Jack Lew cautioned that the challenge has not been completely addressed yet.
Briefing the media after visiting the region Lew said: "there is a sense of security in important population centers that wasn't there before, and there is a sense of determination." Lew thinks that it is important for "the Pakistani government to remain focused on it." SAMAA
